The aims of the school are:-

1. To maintain a stable, caring and happy school community in which children are able to develop sound relationships with one another and with their teachers; to enable them to work together with enthusiasm and mutual respect.

2. To give each child a broad based education leading to good academic qualifications and to teach them how to work and develop the skills necessary for later life.

3. To encourage all round character development in terms of understanding, thinking for oneself, problem solving, decision making and taking initiative.

4. To inculcate sound moral and ethical principles and an awareness of the needs of others.

5. To enable pupils to pass the Common Entrance examination at 13+ and thus gain entry into the senior school.

6. To enable pupils to achieve at least 5 GCSE passes grades A* - C.
