Careers guidance begins towards the end of Year 9 when children decide which subjects they wish to pursue to GCSE. A Careers Teacher liaises with "Careers Wales", a government funded careers advisory agency, which makes regular visits to the school to speak to Years 9-11 about further education and careers.

In year 11, the pupils spend 1 or 2 weeks in a relevant work experience placement, which is arranged through Careers Wales or through personal contacts.
During Years 10 and 11, each pupil is interviewed by a careers advisor from Careers Wales, who gives advice on Post GCSE options and an action plan for the future.
