Homestay

Our rigorous student-family matching process ensures that students’ needs, preferences and background are fully taken into account in finding them the right host family. This allows our international students to enjoy the independence of studying in another country with the security and care that can only be provided by membership of a family.
Our host families all live in the local area, within 15 minutes walk of the school, making journeys to and from school extremely convenient. All our home-stay parents are carefully vetted and monitored to ensure that they provide suitable care and accommodation for our students.
Staying with a family means that students are able to learn about the local culture, UK family life and explore the many exciting facilities Cardiff and the surrounding areas have to offer, while gaining experience and confidence in using English.

My life in my host familiy
“My experience with a home stay family is really good. It is not only that we visit some very important cultural places which gives me an insight into the British traditions and their way of life, but also that they participate in my life emotionally: they celebrate successes with me but also cheer me up if it’s not going well.
The fact that I’m staying with two other exchange students also contributes. They are like brothers to me which gives me a chance to talk to them and have fun together.
All this turns my originally planned school exchange into a life time experience which allows me to combine academic success with social participation which makes the stay here very enjoyable.”
