Music is taught from Nursery to year 8. Though pupils in Years 9-11 have no formal music lessons at present all pupils are afforded the opportunity to perform with other pupils in the school during the year, either as individuals or part of a group.
Music provides an excellent means of self-expression and a link between subjects and cross-curricular themes. We encourage our pupils to 'make music' and to develop creative and expressive skills, aural skills and communication skills.
The music department has a range of percussion instruments and all pupils have access to electronic keyboards. Pupils may also choose to have instrumental tuition from visiting tutors of Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Music Services.
