International Baccalaureate Theory of Knowledge Presentations
International Baccalaureate Theory of Knowledge Presentations
On Thursday 26th and Friday 27th of January, Westbourne School's Upper Sixth presented their Theory of Knowledge presentations, as part of their IB course.
Head of Theory of Knowledge, Miss Philips explained that it was “An excellent day! Upper Sixth gave some fantastic presentations on Theory of Knowledge. All of the students did very well – it was an engaging two days of nuanced debate.”
Some of the titles included Euthanasia, the Death Penalty, Religion v Science and Art in the Media. In her final year of the International Baccalaureate, Jessica Upadhyay gave a presentation on Human Rights. “It was a good day, full of strong opinions and topical discussions. The topics of censorship, the death penalty and human rights in general sparked controversial debate.”
To learn more about what will be expected from them next year and to be present in support of their contemporaries, the Lower Sixth provided an audience for the presentations. In her first year of the International Baccalaureate, student Alice Parker said that “Overall, I really enjoyed watching and participating in all of the debates that arose from the TOK presentations. It allowed me to learn about new situations, and form ideas on the topics presented whilst also gaining new perspectives.”
