Who We Are

We are a predominantly British School who value our international students. New students are quickly made to feel at home and integrate into the school. The majority of our international students study either out GCSE, pre-IB or IB programmes although we have students from international backgrounds as young as in nursery school. We have learned, that by immersing oneself into British culture and customs, the English language becomes easier to learn. Similarly, the more heavily a student involves themselves in Westbourne life, the more rapid their development will be.

Here is what our international student, Trang, had to say about her experience of arriving at Westbourne...

English: Westbourne is placed in a small town of Penarth with a peaceful atmosphere and friendly people. When I first came here, I found the school is a small and family-like place for me to develop my knowledge. I was very surprise when I knew that the Head Master, Mr. Underhill would come and pick me and my father up from the hotel, I was scared and didn’t know what would I talk with him. But then everything went so good. Everybody is very kind, the teachers, the students, they all helped me with my new life. It’s not a good thing if I don’t mention of the Boarding House, it’s the best boarding house ever. We have a small number of students living here so it makes a cozy atmosphere for students like us. I love this place.

Vietnamese: Westbourne là một ngôi trường nằm tại vùng ven của trung tâm Cardiff xứ Wales. Mọi người ở đây rất thân thiện. Khi mình mới tới đây ai cũng nhiệt tình giúp đỡ cho mình không phải bỡ ngỡ trước cuộc sống mới. Trước khi đến đây mình rất bất ngờ và hơi sợ khi biết tin đích thân thầy Hiệu Trưởng sẽ lái xe đến khách sạn đón mình đến kí túc xá. Nhưng rồi không như những vị Hiệu Trưởng khác, thầy Underhill rất thân thiện và hỏi han mình rất nhiều. Sẽ là thiếu sót nếu không nhắc đến kí túc xá nơi mình đang ở. Vì số lượng học sinh ít nên tụi mình sống với nhau như một gia đình, lúc nào cũng vui cả. Nói chung mình rất thích nơi này.
