Stay with one of our families

We recognise that some students prefer a smaller home environment, a host family can be the perfect solution.

Whilst all our students gain a personalised British home experience through the family environment of our boarding house, staying with a local family, certainly for our International students, gives further insight into the unique British culture and enables students to practise their English and gain confidence in a smaller, home environment.

We have a rigorous student-family matching process which ensures that students’ needs, preferences and background are fully taken into account in finding them the right host family. Many families have direct links to the school, all have been carefully vetted.

All of our host families live in the local area either in walking distance or on the school minibus route. They are carefully vetted and are invariably valued families we have known and worked with for several years, many of whom educated their own children at Westbourne.

Host parents are fully integrated into the Westbourne community and make up our extended family environment, they are invited to their host students special events, attend parents evening and regularly keep in touch with their students after they leave Westbourne.

The HomeStay environment can be particularly beneficial for students focused on their end of term exam results and academic results in the final year of the IB Diploma Programme.
