The end of the summer always brings big smiles across the Westbourne community as our students and teachers celebrate GCSE results as well as a tremendous number of top university places being awarded.
We are immensely proud of the maturity and commitment students showed throughout lockdown, with Year 11’s remaining engaged throughout in the face of exam and grade uncertainty. Hard work and perseverance paid off with an excellent set of grades.
Results include a mix of letter and number gradings with 9 considered a high A*, 8 a low A*, 7, the equivalent of an A and 4 the equivalent of a C grade.
We are delighted that 100% of 2020 GCSE grades at Westbourne are A*-C and 9 – 4, 75% A*/A and 9 – 7 and 60% A* and 9 – 8.
Feedback from parents included:
“We are delighted with the outcome and for this great news” – Esther’s parents after a clean sweep of Grade 9 GCSE’s.
“We can’t tell you how happy we are today and we want to thank you, the school and all your wonderful teachers for making this happen.” Morgan’s parents
