It was a warm Westbourne Welcome Back to School for students from Sixth Form and Senior School, including Years 11, Pre-IB, IB1 and IB2, with a very special invite to Cardiff Castle, one of Wales leading international attractions and historic sites, for the Annual IB Welcome Dinner.
The evening is a great opportunity for existing Senior School students to re-connect after the summer holiday and importantly welcome new students on to the IB Diploma and into Pre-IB, fitting;y set in a location which has been at the heart of Welsh history for over 2000 years.

We were delighted to have talented harpist, mum and Westbourne music teacher, Eluned, entertain the group with her magnificent harp performance throughout welcome drinks, set in the historic library. Briskly followed by an entertaining and insightful history lesson by the resident Castle historian.
The history lesson continued as students were led up to the Grand Hall for an evening of fine dining, speeches by key members of staff and a welcome from Head Boy, Nikolay and Head Girl Matilde.

The key focus of the event came later in the evening as IB1 took a long walk up to the very top of the Castle Clock Tower, for a moment of reflection amongst peers on the undertaking of the IB Diploma and their aims throughout the programme.
