The summer break has seen a number of our pupils excel in a varierty of sports.
In particular, huge congratulations to Owen, Year 9, who has been named the 2021 Wales Golf Under 14’s Champion. Over two rounds, Owen shot 4 over par and 1 over par, winning the Welsh Under 14 Championship at Neath Golf Club last month.
Building up to this finale of his 2021 season, Owen reduced his handicap to 3.1, by winning a host of other competitions and tournaments; the Ben Williams Trophy at Whitchurch Golf Club (shooting 2 over par), the Glamorgan County Under 14 Strokeplay Championship and the Glamorgan County Junior Matchplay Championship.
Owen also captained the Glamorgan County Under 14 team over the 2021 season and was selected to represent both the Under 16 and Under 18 County teams.
Owen’s clear talent as a golfer has led to him being selected for this year’s Wales Golf High Performance Development Squad and we look forward to following Owen’s progress as he continues to make a name for himself in the sport.
