Outstanding students attain leadership roles
We are delighted to announce the new Westbourne School Head Pupils and Student Ambassadors for the academic year 2022-23.
The appointed representatives have proven to be exceptional role models and ambassadors for the school during their IB1 year. We are confident that they will lead the school with maturity and poise, remaining dedicated to their studies and the objectives of the school, as well as providing support to their fellow pupils and the whole of the Westbourne community. Congratulations to you all.
Thank you to all those students who applied for the posts; we received a large number of fantastic applications from across our IB1 year group, which necessitated much debate and discussion amongst teachers.

“I joined Westbourne from a school in England in Year 9, and one of the things I loved as soon as I got here was the friendly atmosphere of the school. At Westbourne everyone knows everyone, creating a second family which certainly helped my transition into boarding life. I would love to study Psychology in university, hopefully somewhere in the UK.”

“I joined Westbourne from Albania for IB1. Currently, I have in mind Sciences Po in France and Durham University for university study, and I am interested in studying Politics and International Relations. My favourite thing about Westbourne is the spirit of camaraderie across the school.”

“I joined Westbourne in IB1 from Malawi. I would like to go to university in Leeds to read Psychology. My favourite thing about Westbourne is how community oriented it is.”

“I joined Westbourne in Year 9 after growing up in China. My favourite thing about Westbourne is the people. I think we have such a community spirit and are like a family here, helped by the fact the school is so small. Everyone is always willing to help and support each other. When I finish school, I would love to study at St Andrews in Scotland to read History.”

“I’m from Wales originally and have been at Westbourne since Year 7. I want to go to a university in the UK such as Cardiff – one of the top universities for studying child nursing, which is what I am passionate about. My favourite thing about Westbourne would have to be the environment, everyone knows everyone and it’s like a big family.”

“I joined Westbourne from Hong Kong, where I had lived and studied all my life. When I leave Westbourne, I would love to go to university in either the UK, Italy or Singapore to study architecture. The supportive, uplifting and close environment at Westbourne is unparalleled and the reason why I love it here.”

“I grew up in France and Hong Kong but moved to Wales to study at Westbourne for Pre-IB. I love how at Westbourne every one of us knows each other and we are all so close. When I leave Westbourne I want to go to UCL to study management.”
