Cardiff University leads virtual reality workshop

University-led STEM workshop

Year 8 enjoyed a workshop with Steve Morris from the Pharmabees project, run by Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In an interactive and fascinating presentation, Steve explained the importance of bees to the environment, our health and the economy.

Experiencing cutting-edge technology

Students used virtual reality (VR) headsets to experience the journey of a bee on a foraging trip around Cardiff, before experimenting with a Minecraft world in which the effects of removing bees could be experienced.

We are pleased to have more STEM events planned with Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, including a visit to some of their laboratories to learn about bacterial research as part of our enhanced Middle Years curriculum.
