Football stars make Westbourne proud

Congratulations to our Westbourne Senior football team for an outstanding win over fellow Penarth school, St Cyres.

Exceptional play from the whole team, with both Ronnie and Eloy scoring 2 goals each, coupled with some excellent saves from Nazar in goal, Westbourne won 4 – 2.

Saturday Sporting Heroines!

Westbourne netball team with Ms Allen

Both Ms Allen and our team – Central Stars went home with well deserved awards!

Westbourne had a brilliant day over the weekend taking part in the inaugural South Wales Police Force netball competition where we played with and against teams from the across the South Wales Police Force area.

Congratulations to Ms Allen who was awarded the Sporting Heroine prize for bringing not just one but three whole teams from across Penarth with Westbourne clearly leading the numbers. Well done girls for representing the school over the weekend.

The Big Wrap!

As the festive season takes hold, The Big Wrap charity is very much at the front of our minds as we look to support others less fortunate during this traditional holiday period.

The Big Wrap, is an organisation that provides gifts to children aged 1 – 19 years, living within our local community around the Vale of Glamorgan,  who are at risk of receiving very little, or indeed nothing this Christmas.

It is solely run by volunteers and relies entirely on donations from local organisations and members of the public.

We have spoken with the volunteers who would love it if a pupil donated just one present of something that they would enjoy themselves, this way a range of gifts appropriate for different ages can be collected. Children aged 11 – 12years are an age group who they always struggle to find presents for.

Presents (new please, ideally no films or books), donated gift wrap or gift bags can be brought into the Prep, or Senior School anytime up until 15th December, pupil representatives will then take the presents to the collection point in Barry.

Thank you for getting behind this initiative to make a small, yet meaningful difference to young lives so very close to home.
