Last Sunday, pupils from IB1 (Geri, Sab, Albert, Felix, Anton and Kostia), along with around 2000 runners, participated in the charity run for Movember in Bute Park. The Movember cause raises awareness for men’s health and money raised from this specific event goes towards the Movember foundation.
There were two runs: a 5km run and a 10km run. Everyone except Anton participated in the 5km. Meanwhile, Anton, who was in the mood for a challenge, participated in the 10km run. The 5km run started at 11:10 am and the 10km started ten minutes later.
Kostia finished 19th out of 520 runners, followed by Sab who finished 32nd, Albert finished 58th, Felix finished 196th and, last but not least, Geri completed the run in 207th position. Meanwhile, Anton completed his 10km run in 223rd position out of around 1500 people.
“This was my first charity run and if I have another chance to take part in it again, I will take on the challenge”, remarked Albert confidently.
“It was amazing to complete this challenge in such a friendly environment. This was a whole new experience for me because there were motivators on the way and many people simply cheered for every runner.”, commented Anton.
Overall, this day was a positive experience for all of us who partook in this event.
