Talent and Craft for All to See
On Thursday 28th March, Westbourne School held their annual IB and Senior School Art exhibition. The evening was a huge success with parents, pupils and staff attending. Special attention was given to IB Visual Arts student, Alice who in line with the requirements of the IB course, exhibited a series of pieces and talked through the personal meaning and techniques which led to each piece. The Visual Arts course on the International Baccalaureate Diploma Course encourages students to take an active interest in the visual arts, to visit exhibitions on a regular basis, and to concern themselves with the role of art and design within our culture and the cultures of others.
Westbourne Senior School students exhibited several different pieces of art work, which they had completed over the school year, using an array of media and art techniques. The display was very impressive with fellow students taking inspiration from their peers for other art projects or techniques they can use in their next piece.
We look forward to our Lower Sixth form student, Huong from Vietnam who will be exhibiting her pieces next year.
