Speedy lake running!

Cosmeston Lakes has been home to Westbourne Prep’s Annual Cross Country Race for generations.

This year,  much to the delight of current pupils, Beth Fisher, a former pupil, 44 cap Welsh hockey player and soon to be one of ITV Wales newest sports reporters not only started each race, but took a nostalgic lap of the lakes to support Year 3 & 4 pupils as they made their way twice around.

Races started with a swift sprint from Reception class, followed by a lap for Year 1 & 2, then an impressive double lap for Years 3 and 4.

An outstanding effort from the children. As well as supporting, Beth delighted those attending with images of her very own cross country race whilst she was in Westbourne Prep some years ago, with her outstanding sporting successes she proved an inspiration to us all.

A full album of the day’s event can be seen over on our Facebook page.
