The past few years have seen us transform our use of technology to empower students to gain new skills that give them the edge over their peers. In 2021, we were added to the high-profile EdTech50 list for innovation in technology, and this year were shortlisted for ‘Best Use of Technology’ in the TES Schools Awards, as well as for the Independent School of the Year Innovation Award.
With Prep pupils learning the principles of coding from as early as Year 3, Senior School students quickly develop advanced computing skills, with an impressive grasp of high-level programming and robotics.
Westbourne was also one of the first schools in Wales to use artificial intelligence to enhance learning. Our students use an online learning platform backed by AI and the latest thinking in neuroscience to extend their classroom study. It generates mini-lessons as well as extensive further reading, all with full teacher support.
To “future-proof” our students to succeed beyond school, Westbourne offers a pioneering STEM curriculum, providing hands-on, interactive learning for pupils of all ages. Students use experimentation, critical thinking, creativity and imagination to build resilience and practical skills.
Personalised attention is at the heart of the Westbourne experience. Working one-to-one with expert staff, students are guided to reach their full academic and personal potential, whilst gaining access to a myriad of learning opportunities designed to inspire and grow their global awareness.
